Global aircraft company Boeing announced yesterday new plans to market space flights to tourists.
Boeing will team up with Virgina, US-based operator Space Adventures to sell additional seats on the Boeing Crew Space Transportation-100 spacecraft, built to support the international space station.
The craft can carry a crew of seven, with four seats reserved for professional astronauts from NASA. The remaining three will be for sale, although it is not yet known how much the asking price will be.
Would-be tourists will shoot 100 kilometres into space, reaching low Earth orbit.
