The moonwalking bird

A male manakin courting a female is an impressive sight.

Half of the known species use their body parts to make music, but the club-winged manakin is the only one who uses his feathers to generate a sound. It isn’t just about the song either — the manakin will also dance to impressive a female, using moves such as an about-face, a dart and a backwards slide that closely resembles a Michael Jackson moonwalk.
