Small cats gone wild

Margay (Leopardus wiedi)

Picture 1 of 9

Also called tiger cat or tigrillo, this spotted feline is native to Central and South America. The Margay's fur is usually a brown colour, with dark brown or black markings such as spots or streaks. Its fuller face and large, dark eyes make it distinctive from its close relative the ocelot. Image: Jeff Grabert/ Shutterstock
