Dimitri Douchin, PhD student, and his advisor at Macquarie University, Orsola de Marco, confirmed that the object known as Kn 61 is a planetary nebula.
In this image, we can see the newly confirmed planetary nebula, a bright star and a spiral galaxy. The image was taken by Professor Travis Rector, from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, using the 8.1m Gemini Telescope.
