Primates in the wild

Long-tailed macaque

Picture 4 of 7

With their light, brown hair, Macaca fascicularis are sexually dimorphic and can leap distances between trees of up to five metres. Distributed in Southeast Asia, this mammal is frugivorous, but during the dry season it may eat insects, stems, flowers, grass and mushrooms. Long-tailed macaques are excellent swimmers, a technique they've mastered to escape predators. Image: Shutterstock
