This is what happens when fashion and technology come together — a look at the DVF Spring 2013 show through the eyes of the models, the designers and Diane von Furstenberg herself. All of the footage was captured using Glass, Google’s new technology, after the celebrated fashion designer was introduced to the technology at a conference and agreed to bring it to her show.
A full-blown computer in its own right, Glass consists of a device that you wear on your face — Google doesn’t like to use the word glasses, as there are no lenses involved. Instead, it resembles the frame of the glasses, with a tiny transparent block located just above and to the right of your right eye. This is just the screen; according to an interview with Glass’s creators, the right earpiece contains a memory, a processor, a camera, speaker and microphone, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi antennas, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass and a battery. It may even get a cellular radio one day.
