Native Australian wombats are notoriously shy creatures, and sadly they are more often seen dead by the side of the road than they are alive in the wild.
It was a nice surprise to spot this little guy ““ alive, well and obviously hungry ““ hanging out in Kosciuszko National Park, near the Thredbo ski resort chairlifts. He ignored dozens of skiers in order to have a feed on a patch of grass.
