Bilby
Picture 2 of 8
With its long and pointy nose, the greater bilby is one of Australia's most beloved animals. The rabbit-size omnivore can't see very well, so its ears and sense of smell help it stay away from predators and hunt for food. Macrotis lagotis, which measures up to 55cm in body length, is an endangered species — its main predators are foxes and feral cats. Image: Wildlife Sydney.
